Serious collision results in fatal, airlift required near Ashmont
A 40-year-old woman has died and man has suffered serious injuries as the result of collision last Wednesday near Highway 28.
Authorities say that shortly after 8:00AM on Apr. 23, the St. Paul RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle head on collision between two trucks near the intersection of Highway 28 and Highway 36.
When police arrived, one female was declared deceased on scene.
One male was airlifted to an Edmonton hospital with serious injuries. The deceased is a 40-year-old female resident of Maskwacis.
Impairment by drugs or alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the collision.

St. Paul RCMP are currently on scene, responding to a serious motor vehicle collision just east of the intersection at Highway 28 and Highway 36 near Ashmont.
Roads will be temporarily closed in both directions while police conduct their investigation.
