LLB Fire & EMS assist as two ice fishers found dead in suggested carbon monoxide poisoning
Lac La Biche Fire & EMS helped assist in reports of two ice fishers found dead at Crow Lake Provincial Park.
Crow Lake, located roughly 160 kilometres north of Lac La Biche, is where Boyle RCMP are investigating the deaths of a 45-year-old male resident of Fort McMurray, and a 37-year year old male resident of Labrador City, Newfoundland.
An RCMP press release on Tuesday morning revealed a working theory of the cause.
Preliminary investigation suggests that the cause of death was carbon monoxide poisoning coming from a heating source used inside the tent.
An autopsy has been scheduled as the investigation continues.
“Alberta RCMP would like to extend condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.”
