Lakeland Connect has yet to learn the nature of both decisions and will provide an update should one become available. The Thunder are sitting sixth in the AJHL South Division standings with a 4-4-1-1 record. With 10 points, they are eighth in the league.

This afternoon, Drayton Valley Thunder dismissed their head coach and coaching staff, effective immediately, as reported by owner Leighton Grey. The staff dismissed included head coach Geoff Walker and assistant coaches Kabe Bleay and Josh Pufahl.

Thunder alumni Evan Boire and new assistant coach Tyr Thompson will coach the team in the interim.

Grey would not give details on the coaching change, but he stated that the team is negotiating with a new head coach and expects to announce his hiring next week.

The Thunder are 4-3-0 in the AJHL South, with games coming up this weekend in Whitecourt and Olds.
