Cold Lake cenotaph site of Sunday’s commemoration of Battle of Britain

A ceremony will be held on Sunday to commemorate the 84th anniversary of the Battle of Britain.

The ceremony will include a parade of 4 Wing and CFB Cold Lake personnel from Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 211 to the cenotaph, the laying of wreaths, an address from the 4 Wing Commander, a flyby of CF-18 Hornets and a short period of remembrance.

Over 100 Canadian pilots served in the Royal Canadian Air Force at the time of the famous battle.

Multiple CF-188 Hornet aircraft from 409 Tactical Fighter Squadron are scheduled to conduct a ceremonial flyby above the Legion Cenotaph on 10th Street at approximately 11:18 a.m. on Sunday.
