C2 search for new GM close to complete

The Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre has been without a general manager for months. They hope to have to someone in place soon, said Town of Bonnyville Mayor Elisa Brosseau.

The C2 Board, comprised of M.D. and Town councillors, as well as members at large, hired a consultant to help with the hiring process.

“We’re going through a period of transition there,” said Brosseau, who sits on the board.

“There isn’t a GM at the moment, but the board is working hard to have someone in place there. Things continue to happen. Most people will notice, especially if you use the C2, especially the ice surfaces, we had a new condenser put in this year. We continue to work on projects to maintain our facility for the longevity.

“Since it’s been built we’ve grown substantially as a community. Our organizations have grown, our sports organizations have just exploded just so much more than our facility can handle, but we’re trying our best to navigate that. We’re making some changes there. We’ll have someone new in that position hopefully shortly.”

Les Parsons was the last GM of the facility.
