Several weapons seized during search warrant near Bonnyville

Two people are facing charges, one of them a total of ten gun charges, after Bonnyville RCMP executed a search warrant at a rural property northeast of town.
Police believed as they conducted the search warrant on Thursday, April 25 at a property on Range Road 452 near Township Road 621 there was stolen property on site.
Upon arrival, a vehicle was leaving the property. They were pulled over and found to be on drugs at the time and in possession of them as well.
Stolen trailers were found on site with “copious” amounts of copper wire, RCMP said, as well prohibited guns inside the residence.
Four people were arrested, but two faces charges.
Both Dakota Masson, 37, of Cold Lake, and Jason Nunweiller, 48, of Cold Lake, face possession of stolen property over $5000 charges, and two counts of altering or destroying a VIN.
Masson is additionally charged with unauthorized possession, possession of a prohibited firearm, and eight counts of possession of a weapon contrary to order.
Additionally, he was in possession of cocaine and issued provincial sanctions for impaired driving. The vehicle he was driving was seized for 30 days.
Both were brought before a Justice of a Peace and both were remanded in custody until their first court appearance.
