A Bonnyville high school will have a new principal next school year.
Tracie Young has been appointed principal of Bonnyville Centralized High School for the 2024-2025 school year, Northern Lights Public Schools said in a release on Thursday.
“Her diverse and lengthy experience as an administrator will be beneficial for BCHS as we expand dual credit opportunities for students and move forward with high school redesign throughout the division,” said superintendent Rick Cusson in a press release.
“She has a strong commitment to building relationships with all stakeholders in her school community and ensuring both students and staff have the resources and opportunities they need to be successful.”
Young has served as assistant principal at Cold Lake High School for the last eight years and prior to that was assistant principal at Art Smith Aviation Academy for five years. She has also served on the division’s numeracy committee, assisting with the development of resources and implementation of professional development that aligns with the division’s numeracy priority.
“I am so excited to have been chosen to lead such an amazing school,” said Young. “I know I have big shoes to fill, but I also know there are a lot of great people at BCHS to help me.”
