Two charges as part of investigation into B&E spree in Bonnyville
Several downtown Bonnyville businesses were victimized in a rash of break & enters between October 18-22.
The investigation lead police to a residence in the area of Beau Vista, police say, where they executed a search warrant and located tablets, cheques and other items that had been stolen from the various victim businesses.
During the search police also found enough methamphetamine sufficient for trafficking and an improperly stored firearm belonging to the renter of the property, even though she is prohibited to possess firearms.
Kristi Fauth, 35, from Bonnyville was arrested and charged with three counts of Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Meth for the Purpose of Trafficking, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm and Fraud.
A second renter of the residence, 36 year old, Elizabeth Barrett is also charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Possession of Meth for the Purpose of Trafficking, Careless Storage of a Firearm, Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.
Both women were held for bail hearings and a Justice of the Peace released them on no cash bail and conditions and are set to appear in court November 28th.
During the search police also found a quantity of IDs and other documents with the personal information of others on them which has launched a whole other Fraud based investigation where it’s expected more charges will be laid.
As for the rash of business Break & Enters, the investigation continues and charges are pending against a third individual.
