Bellamy Foundation fundraiser sells out, VIPs come to town

Tickets are now all sold out for tonight’s start in the Clayton Bellamy Foundation For the Arts Gala and Golf event.

In hopes of continuing fundraising to complete the new state-of-the-art Strathcona Performing Arts Centre, the two-day event kicks off with an elegant black tie dinner, auction, and several musical performances by some of the biggest names in country music.

Guests will be treated to Dallas Smith, Mike Plume, Dan Davidson, and The Road Hammers.

Auctioneer Danny Hooper will be hosting the evening, as well as part of the big auction of celebrities the next day for the golf at the Bonnyville Golf & Country Club, which will also include Justin Fontaine, Tanner Boser, Jon Kalinski, Husband Chad, Vinnie from Boom 95.3, and chuckwagon driver Doug Irvine.

Turning into 2023, the Bellamy Foundation had received roughly half of its fundraising goal of $1.5 million. Now, they continue to push forward with grant contributions from the province and Town.

The plan is turn the old BCHS gym into a theatre, in the wake of the arts needing a new home after the closure of the Lyle Victor Albert Centre.

The gala on Friday night is at the Bonnyville and District Centennial Centre.
