Six cars, engine off the tracks in Wainwright train derailment: RCMP
Police are on the scene assisting with a train derailment in Wainwright.
On Tuesday morning at approximately 10:36 a.m., Wainwright RCMP were requested to assist with a train derailment west of Wainwright on Highway 14, on the south side of the highway.
Police say six box cars and an engine were off the tracks. No injuries have been reported.
At this time, RCMP are directing west bound traffic to go north bound on 1 Street and then west on Township Road 452, where they can get back onto Highway 14 and continue west bound.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area.
