Alcohol is believed to be a factor in a collision on Highway 28 near Vilna on Tuesday afternoon, which has caused serious injuries, police say.
Smoky Lake RCMP said they were dispatched Tuesday afternoon at 3:05 p.m., to a motor vehicle collision on Highway 28 and Township Road 593A near Vilna.
A Buick Enclave, occupied by two adults and one child, which was travelling northeast on Township Road 593A, struck a Ford F350, occupied by a male and female, which was westbound on Highway 28.
A male driver of the Ford suffered serious injuries and was transported via ground ambulance to hospital. A female passenger of the Ford suffered minor injuries. No one was injured in the Buick.
The investigation is ongoing, however, alcohol is believed to be a factor.
