Drug trafficking charges laid on Cold Lake resident
Cold Lake RCMP have charged one person with drug trafficking charges.
On Tuesday, July 25, Cold Lake RCMP General Investigation Section concluded a several month long drug trafficking investigation within the City of Cold Lake.
With the assistance of the RCMP’s Lakeland Crime Reduction Unit, and the Cold Lake Detachment, a search warrant was executed in Cold Lake South.
Police located quantities of suspected controlled substances, a .22 Calibre firearm, a quantity of Canadian currency, and other drug trafficking paraphernalia. RCMP did not reveal the amounts of drugs seized.
Angel Blackman, 31, a resident of Cold Lake, was arrested and charged in relation to this investigation. Blackman has been charged with the following offences:
- Trafficking in a controlled substance (x4)
- Possession of a firearm contrary to a Prohibition Order
- Failing to comply with conditions of a Release Order
- Possession of proceeds of crime
Blackman was released by a Justice of the Peace with conditions to appear in Alberta Court of Justice in Cold Lake Aug. 23, 2023.
