Heat warning in effect; high temperatures expected for days
It’s hot.
Environment Canada re-issued a heat warning on Thursday morning for the Lakeland area, and the weather service predicts that it will remain scorching for days.
Highs are expected to hover around 30 degrees until Sunday when the daytime high is predicted to drop into the mid-20s.
But long-term forecasts so far show expected highs near 30 degrees at the start of next week.
The entire province except some areas near Banff and Canmore are under heat warnings, where there is an elevated risk of heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
