Sr. Pontiacs hope home ice can help them in weekend games
The Bonnyville Sr. Pontiacs get to return to the friendly confines of the RJ Lalonde Arena after playing the majority of their games so far this season on the road.
On Saturday night, the Sr. Pontiacs welcome the Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs to town and on Sunday afternoon the Red Deer Rustlers will come for a matinee contest.
This year, Bonnyville is 1-6 thus far, but have only played two games. This weekend’s matchups are will get the Seniors’ two-thirds of the way through their December games, with one more scheduled on December 17 in Devon.
Denis Cadrin has the team lead with 12 points, while Lucas Isley, Tanner Corbeil, Dallas Desjarlais, and Coltan Buchta round out the top five scoring leaders.
Puck drop Saturday night is 7:30pm and on Sunday is 2:30pm.
Elk Point Elks
The Elk Point Elks do not have a game this weekend after beginning their season on November 19.
Through two contests in Sask/Alta Senior Hockey League play, the Elks are 1-1 with a 7-2 loss to the Dewberry Mustangs and a 6-1 win over the Two Hills Longhorns.
Elk Point plays their first game at home on Saturday, December 11 against Dewberry.
