Croteau, Emigh, Wentz to play back in Bonnyville with U15AAA Bobcats on Saturday
Three Bonnyville-area hockey players will get the chance to play on home ice on Saturday afternoon.
Austin Wentz, Rylan Emigh, and Carson Croteau are playing this season on the Lloyd Meridian Surveys Bobcats U15AAA squad this season and get the chance to play at the RJ Lalonde Arena on Saturday afternoon at 4:15pm. Their opponent is the Maple Leaf Athletic Club Scott Pump team from Edmonton.
The Bobcats are enjoying success so far this year, sitting tied for 3rd in the AEHL U15AAA North Division with a 9-4 record.
It’s a chance for early season revenge about the Maple Leafs. Despite their 3-11 record, they beat the Bobcats back in early October.
This is the lone time the Bobcats will play a home game outside of the Border City and Bonnyville was the lucky recipient of the town home contest.
While Lloyd is strongly represented on the team, there are also players from Wainwright, Paradise Valley, and Provost.
It is Wentz’s second season on the team, while Emigh and Croteau made their first appearances this year.
Their teammate Aiden Foster is the league’s leading scorer with 30 points in 13 games.
Wentz and Croteau are 3rd and 4th in team scoring at the moment. Wentz has earned 4 goals and 10 assists in 13 games, while Croteau from the blueline has potted 5 goals and 6 assists in the same amount of games.
Emigh to his credit has 2 goals and 4 assists currently.
It’s a full day of hockey at the RJ Lalonde Arena on Saturday, with the Bobcats game sandwiched in between. The Lakeland Panthers U15AA team hosts the St. Albert Sabres at 1:45pm. Then, the Sr. Pontiacs will face the Fort Saskatchewan Chiefs at 7:30pm.
