Vermilion RCMP investigate shooting
On Sept. 24, 2021 at approximately 12:12 a.m., Vermilion RCMP received a complaint of a disturbance at a residence in the are of 47 Street and 50 Avenue in Vermilion, Alta.
Preliminary investigation revealed that three suspects were seen banging at the door of a residence and a loud noise was heard. The suspects then fled the scene in a newer model black Dodge Ram 2500 with black wheels.
At approximately 12:31 a.m., Vermilion RCMP received a report of a male who had arrived at Vermilion Health Centre, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to hospital in Edmonton, Alta., via ground ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.
This incident is believed to have been targeted and it is not believed there is a risk to the public.
Vermilion RCMP with the assistance of St. Paul RCMP Forensic Identification Section continue to investigate this incident.
