M.D. of Bonnyville #TakeItToTheLake t-shirt campaign raises money for local foodbanks
The Municipal District of Bonnyville (M.D.) ran a #TakeItToTheLake t-shirt fundraising campaign to staff and the public this summer from June to August that promoted the Campgrounds in the M.D. The proceeds raised from the promotion will be split evenly and donated to the Cold Lake Food Bank and the Bonnyville Friendship Centre Food Bank.
On Wednesday, August 25, Administration proposed that Council again match the funds raised from the Summer Shirt Program.
The Municipal Summer Shirt Promotion encouraged residents to visit our local M.D. campgrounds, trails, and to take advantage of the many lakes in the municipality.
Esther Quiambao is the Director of Legislative & Information Services for the M.D. of Bonnyville.
“It was comparable to our 2020/2021 #TakeItToTheLake Winter Shirt campaign completed this past winter where all proceeds were donated to the Cold Lake Food Bank,” Quiambao said.
Council agreed to match the $1,052.40 raised during the summer #TakeItToTheLake t-shirt campaign. The money will be donated equally to the Bonnyville and Cold Lake Food Banks.
The total donation was $2,433.06 and the amount of $1,052.40 which Council matched will be funded from the 2021 Operating Budget.
