The RCMP in Leduc have charged a woman from Lac La Biche with second degree murder.
On Aug. 15, 2021, at approximately 3:00 p.m., the Leduc RCMP received a report of an aggravated assault on Sparrow Drive near Airport Road.
The RCMP, Fire and EMS responded and located a victim of a serious assault. The victim, Patrick Ford, 44, of Port Alberni, BC, died as a result of his injuries. A female suspect was arrested at the scene.
Tyra Phillips, 33, of Lac La Biche, has been charged with second degree murder.
Following a judicial interim release hearing, Phillips was remanded to appear in Leduc Provincial Court on August 19, 2021.
