Opening date set for Clancy and CAP Arenas in St. Paul
The Clancy Arena in the Town of St. Paul is scheduled to open on September 10.
Kim Heyman is the Chief Administrative Officer for the Town of St. Paul.
“After a meeting with the user groups and the staff, September 10 works for both,” Heyman said. “At that point user groups can commit to ice time which helps offset costs and the staff will be wrapping up other projects and can commit to having the ice in by September 10.”
The arena is set to open early, Heyman says about two weeks earlier than usual. This also goes for the CAP arena.
“The CAP is scheduled to open on October 1,” Heyman said. “The weather should be cool enough by then that the plant shouldn’t have to work to hard and by then all user groups will be close to maximizing ice time. This is also two weeks earlier than usual.”
