M.D. of Bonnyville sponsors the Bonnyville Agricultural Society

The Bonnyville Agricultural Society (BAS) got a boost recently from the M.D. of Bonnyville in funding support, in the amount of $3,500 towards their upcoming Canadian Professional Rodeo Association event in July 2021 and the World Professional Chuckwagon Association event in August.

The BAS is planning their summer events, which includes bringing back the Canadian Professional Rodeo Association (CPRA) held over the July 9-11, 2021 weekend and the World Professional Chuckwagon Association (WPCA) to be held on August 5-8, 2021.

“In the last year and a half with this COVID-19 stuff a lot of these halls and organizations have not had a way to fund money,” Councillor Ben Fadeyiw said. “I think it’s a burden on a lot of them.”

These two events bring in a large group of participants and spectators into the Bonnyville area.

The M.D. Council unanimously approved the funding request and the source of Funding will be taken from the 2021 Operational Budget (Council’s Grants to Individuals & Non-Government).
