Update: Cold Lake RCMP vehicle rammed by truck officer discharges weapon
The Cold Lake RCMP, along with the assistance of the RCMP Eastern Alberta District (EAD) Crime Reduction Unit (CRU) and Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU), have located the truck involved in the May 29, 2021, incident and have arrested and charged a male.
As a result of further investigation, the RCMP EAD CRU and Alberta RCMP MCU located the White Ford F350 in an area north of La Corey, and conducted a high risk vehicle stop with the assistance of RCMP Police Dog Services. The driver and lone occupant, Cody White, was arrested and taken into custody.
Cody Raymond White, 34, of Marie Lake is charged with:
- Assault police officer (x2)
- Flight from police (x2)
- Dangerous operation of motor vehicle (x2)
- Operation of motor vehicle while prohibited (x4)
- Fail to stop after accident
Following a judicial hearing, White was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on June 1, 2021, to speak to bail.
As this matter is now before the courts, no further information will be provided.

This morning at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Cold Lake RCMP responded to a report of a stolen vehicle in an alleyway near 47th Street in Cold Lake and a traffic stop was initiated.
The truck then rammed a police vehicle multiple times. During this incident, an officer discharged their service weapon at the truck before it fled the area. Additional RCMP support resources including Air Services were deployed in the area but the truck was not located. The driver is believed to be a male who also had a female passenger inside.

It is not known at this time if the occupants of the truck suffered any injuries. The officer suffered minor injuries as a result of the ramming and was later released from hospital.
The truck was last seen heading northbound on Highway 28 and is described as:
- White Ford F350
- Four door with black fender flares
- Beige tailgate
- Dark coloured slip tank in the back
