Alberta Health Services has declared an outbreak at Lakeland College’s Vermilion campus, the post-secondary said on Monday.

There are over 10 active cases in students and faculty at Lakeland College with the Vermilion site being the outbreak location.

Lakeland College said in a statement that classes for agricultural sciences, environmental sciences, and interior design technology have moved online until further notice.

The school said AHS and Lakeland’s Health Services department are working to complete contact tracing and determine if further action needs to be taken. Close contacts are being notified.

In order to limit the spread, no travel between the Vermilion and Lloydminster campuses is allowed until further notice. Working from home is recommended for anyone who can, while essential workers will still be able to work on-site.
