Kitscoty RCMP find stolen ATVs, guns, generators in search warrant
Three stolen ATVs missing for multiple years recovered during the search warrant.
Guns, generators, and cash were found at a house east of Kitscoty after a search warrant was executed on Feb. 5.
Kitscoty RCMP began investigating a stolen property complaint in December 2020 and with help from RCMP Auto Theft Unit, St. Paul RCMP Police Dog Unit, and a member of the Vermilion RCMP, one person was arrested.
During the search, police found ten firearms, four generators, and Canadian currency.
Police also seized an Arctic Cat ATV, which had been stolen from Barrhead in 2017, a Featherlite utility trailer, stolen from Eatonia, Sask. in 2019, and a Forest River trailer, stolen from Bashaw, Alta. in 2016.
Shane Wilson Slade (42) of Blackfoot has been charged with:
- Possession of stolen property over $5000 (x7)
- Possession of proceeds of crime over $5000
- Improper storage of a firearm (x2)
- Alter a Vehicle Identification Number (x3)
- Fraudulent concealment of property
Wilson was released on an undertaking and is scheduled to appear in Kitscoty Provincial Court on April 20, 2021.
