Four people charged after RCMP seize more than 100 grams of assorted drugs

Four people have been charged after a large drug bust in St. Paul last week.

On Feb. 4, the St. Paul RCMP entered into a drug investigation and executed a search warrant at a residence in the town in the 4400 block on 48th Street.

RCMP said “a significant quantity” of drugs and cash, including 18 grams of crystal meth, 56 grams of cocaine, 29 grams of crack/cocaine and just over $84,000 in cash.

“This was a considerable seizure of money and drugs for the town of St. Paul,” said Sgt. David Graham in the press release.

“This was an instance of our member’s gathering intelligence, being proactive and attacking crime head on. Targeting trouble residences is a priority for the community and goes to ensuring public safety which is the RCMP’s main objective.”

Darcy Norris Cardinal (46) of Saddle Lake was charged with multiple offences, including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Possession of a controlled substance (x2)
  • Fail to comply with release order (x3)

Wayne Jason Pruden (42) of St. Paul was charged with multiple offences, including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Possession of a controlled substance (x2)
  • Weapon possession contrary to order

Ignatius William Rumbolt (69) of St. Paul was charged with multiple offences, including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Possession of a controlled substance (x2)
  • Possession of a weapon for dangerous purpose
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

All three were released on a Release Order after a judicial hearing and will be appearing in St. Paul Provincial Court on March 25, 2021.

Jamie Leroy Cardinal (49) of St. Paul was charged with multiple offences, including:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking (x2)
  • Possession of a controlled substance (x2)

Cardinal was released on an Undertaking and is set to appear in St. Paul Provincial Court on March 25, 2021.
