SaskAlta Senior Hockey League officially done for the season

The Elk Point Elks, Dewberry Mustangs, Two Hills Longhorns and others will not hit the ice again this season.

The remainder of the SaskAlta Senior Hockey League has been cancelled after the announcement by the province that adult sports are steps away from being allowed to resume on Friday.

The league had gotten going in early November playing for three weeks before the Alberta government put in place stronger restrictions, in essence ending the season on Nov. 28.

Teams were already playing a modified schedule in staying in their province for their regular-season games and taking two weeks off before seeing a different opponent.

The NCHL, the league the Bonnyville Sr. Pontiacs play in, decided not to pursue a 2020-21 season.
