The Village of Dewberry is officially dissolved as of Jan. 1, 2021.

Dissolving the village means it will now become a hamlet within the County of Vermilion River.

According to Minister of Municipal Affairs Tracy Allard, this means “the County of Vermilion River will become responsible for providing municipal governance and services in Dewberry. Dewberry electors will be eligible to run and vote in County of Vermilion River elections in the future.”

The dissolution comes following a viability review in October and a vote Nov. 3 and Nov. 4 in which 72 per cent of ballots supported dissolution.
