Fire west of Bonnyville claims home
A fire just outside of Bonnyville has claimed a local family’s home.
Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority responded to a fire at a trailer just out of town in the Northshore Heights area Monday evening with crews from Station 5 in Bonnyville and Station 6 in La Corey at the scene.
It took roughly six hours to extinguish the fire, said fire chief Jay Melvin, and the structure is not inhabitable at the moment.
There were no injuries, however, the family’s pets did not make it out of the fire.
The fire is under investigation, but there is nothing to suggest foul play, said Melvin.
