Student at Holy Cross Elementary positive for COVID-19

A student at Holy Cross Elementary School tested positive for COVID-19, confirmed Lakeland Catholic School Division Tuesday morning.

The division and school worked collaboratively with Alberta Health Services and immediately notified students, parents and staff using the proper protocols and procedures which are set out by the province.

One class, staff and those who were in close contact with the student (including those on the school bus) were asked to quarantine at home for 10 days since the last exposure.

They are all currently self-isolating at home as per Alberta Health Services protocol.

Enhanced cleaning procedures were also followed in the school.

Holy Cross school also provided opportunities for home learning for all students involved.
