St. Paul RCMP issue arrest warrant in relation to serious assault

St. Paul RCMP have issued a warrant for a man in relation to a serious assault early Wednesday morning.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, RCMP said in a release earlier today and has not been found.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 44-year-old Lyle Tyson Cardinal of Saddle Lake, RCMP said, for two counts of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, three counts of uttering threats, and vehicle theft.

He is described as First Nation, roughly six-foot tall, 210 pounds, bald with brown eyes.

Cardinal’s current whereabouts are unknown, RCMP said.

Police are asking people not to approach him but to contact police immediately if located.
