St. Paul RCMP issue arrest warrant in relation to serious assault

St. Paul RCMP have issued a warrant for a man in relation to a serious assault early Wednesday morning.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, RCMP said in a release earlier today and has not been found.

A warrant has been issued for the arrest of 44-year-old Lyle Tyson Cardinal of Saddle Lake, RCMP said, for two counts of assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, three counts of uttering threats, and vehicle theft.

He is described as First Nation, roughly six-foot tall, 210 pounds, bald with brown eyes.

Cardinal’s current whereabouts are unknown, RCMP said.

Police are asking people not to approach him but to contact police immediately if located.

St. Paul RCMP are asking the public’s assistance for any information in identifying his whereabouts. Contact St. Paul RCMP at 780-645-8870 or your local police.

If you wish to remain anonymous, you can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the “P3 Tips” app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
