LLB County to hear from residents on 2021 budget plans
Lac La Biche County will be giving residents two opportunities to discuss the 2021 budget plans with council members in the coming weeks.
The County wanted to give Lac La Biche and Plamondon residents a chance to let council know of their suggestions when it comes to the upcoming budget plans. The open houses give locals a platform to have a say on something that impacts them directly.
“It’s basically a chance for residents to come and give their feedback on what they think should be in the budget, and some council and administration will be at both open houses and people will be able to talk to them directly,” said Jihad Moghrabi, Lac La Biche County communications manager.
“This happens well before budget discussion, so it kind of gives people the chance to set the tone and let council know what they would like to see for 2021.”
The first open house will be on Saturday, August 29 from 1:00-3:00pm in the McArthur Room at McArthur Place, and the second will be in Plamondon on September 2 from 7:00-9:00pm at the Festival Centre.
For those that are unable to make it to either open house, there is a third option so everyone’s voice can be heard.
“If people can’t make it to either of the open houses there is going to be an online survey so they can give us their thoughts,” said Moghrabi.
Residents will be notified about the online survey soon through the County’s website.
For those that do give council their feedback, their suggestions will be discussed at a future council meeting.
“All the feedback will be compiled in a report to council, it will be available at a future meeting and council will take that feedback into consideration,” said Moghrabi.
