Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect in the Lakeland
Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm watch in the Lakeland for later Monday afternoon and into the evening.
A mix of sun and cloud is expected with a 30 per cent chance of showers this afternoon in the west part of the Lakeland with risk of a severe thunderstorm continuing into the evening and a high 25 degrees.
The watch is in effect for the Bonnyville, Cold Lake, St. Paul, Lac La Biche, and Smoky Lake areas.
The storm may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail, Environment Canada said.
The greatest threats associated with these thunderstorms are nickel to quarter size hail and wind gusts up to 80 km/h.
