Kitscoty RCMP respond to call of suspicious vehicle
An Onion Lake man is facing multiple charges after a call came in to police regarding a vehicle in the ditch.
On May 13, 2020 at approximately 6:42 a.m., Kitscoty RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle stuck in a ditch near Range Road 15 and Township Road 504 in the County of Vermilion River. A male was observed leaving the vehicle on foot into some bushes.
Kitscoty, Lloydminster and Vermilion RCMP officers attended the scene and confirmed the vehicle was stolen from Lloydminster, Alta., the previous day. Containment of the area was set up and RCMP Police Dog Services and RCMP Air Services was utilized. As a result, a male suspect who is known to police was located in a field and taken into custody without incident.
Jade Alexander Whitstone (28) of Onion Lake, SK was charged with
- Possession of property obtained by crime exceeding $5000
- Operating a conveyance while prohibited and failing to comply with an undertaking
He was released after a judicial hearing and is set to appear in Lloydminster Provincial Court on July 21, 2020.
