The provincial government is spending $2.5 million to upgrade the Lac La Biche Provincial Building they announced on Wednesday afternoon.
Planning and design work is underway to replace cladding, windows, and insulation on the provincial building in Lac La Biche.
The province estimates this project will provide 14 construction-related jobs, as well as support indirect economic spinoff throughout the community.
“This funding recognizes the importance of the provincial building and the services it provides to the Lac La Biche region,” said Laila Goodridge, MLA for Fort McMurray-Lac La Biche.
“It will support our local economy and create good-paying jobs for Albertans during these challenging times.”
This project is part of the Alberta Government’s doubled capital budget for the 2020-21 budget year, from $937 million to $1.9 billion.
