Highway 55 at Lac La Biche temporarily closed to traffic due to flooding: Transportation
Highway 55 at Lac La Biche, between 101 Avenue and Highway 36, has been temporarily closed, said Alberta Transportation on Monday evening due to flooding concerns.
Flooding issues across Alberta have created a second local state of emergency in Fort McMurray as some are under mandatory evacuation orders.
Flooding from Peace River has also caused Highway 88, northwest of Fort Vermilion, to temporarily close.
Residents of Fort Vermilion and those travelling to High Level or the Northwest Territories are advised to use Highway 35.
Westbound lanes of Highway 16, west of Edmonton, are also temporarily closed due to a culvert failure. Traffic is being diverted to the eastbound lanes.
