Bonnyville-native Brinson Pasichnuk has agreed to terms with the San Jose Sharks on a two-year contract on Monday.

The entry-level deal will see the 22-year-old nominee for the Hobey Baker Award earn $925,000 a year.

Brinson and Steen Pasichnuk, who have both played for the Arizona State University Sun Devils, were invited to the Sharks development camp last summer.

Pasichnuk has been the team’s captain for the past two seasons.

The defenseman racked up 37 points in 36 games in 2019-20.

Pasichnuk played two full seasons with the hometown Bonnyville Pontiacs from 2014-2016 registering 95 points in 110 games.

The NCAA cancelled the Frozen Four tournament due to the coronavirus abruptly ending Pasichnuk’s collegiate career.
