Kehewin man arrested on 15 charges after found with loaded firearm

A 21-year-old Kehewin man was remanded into custody after he was arrested and found with a loaded firearm.

On Feb. 29, Bonnyville RCMP were called to help police in Elk Point with a stolen vehicle with suspects who were possibly armed.

The suspect vehicle had been located and had fled from police.

The vehicle was later located by Bonnyville members in Kehewin where police contained the residence and after some time a suspect was arrested, RCMP said.

A loaded firearm located in the trunk of the stolen vehicle that was recovered.

21 year old Dakota Whitstone was remanded into custody facing 15 Criminal code charges including: Flight from peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000, possession of weapon for a dangerous purpose and multiple other weapons-related charges.

He was also found failing to comply with previous release order charges.
