Dog sports on display for PAWSitive Family Day weekend
It’s entertainment with a bite.
Lakeland’s PAWSitive Dog Sports Association will be hosting the Canadian Region Championships for the North American Dog Agility Council (NADAC) at the Cold Lake & District Agricultural Society Riding Arena in Cold Lake on February 15th-16th.
Purebred and mixed breed dogs will go through skill challenges like maneuvering over walls, bridges and jumps, plus through tunnels and hoops as directed by their handlers.
Adult and junior teams at the Intro, Novice, Open & Elite levels will be competing.
Local teams will faceoff against other Canadian NADAC Clubs for prizes while earning points toward a national title.
Some will receive invitations to the international NADAC Championships to be held this September in Gillette, Wyoming.
The event has free admission.
The two-day event action starts at 8:00am and is expected to run into the afternoon both days. should continue well into the afternoon both days.
Organizers are encouraging you to leave your pets at home.
