Road Warriors

Tales from the Timebox: November 21st, 2019

Friday night with the freezing rain in the forecast the Bantam Avalanche cancelled their game against the visiting Lloydminster Blazers.

Peewee Avalanche

The Peewee Avalanche traveled to Onion Lake on Saturday afternoon to take on the Chiefs losing 6-4. The last goal was into an empty net when the Avalanche pulled their goalie for the extra attacker and it back fired on them. But the score certainly didn’t reflect the effort by the Avalanche who played a great game firing 31 shots on the Chiefs. Goalie ‘Goodyear Charlie’ Lesyk facing 48. Madden ‘Mad Dog’ Flamand with two goals, big brother Kaleb ‘Formula One’ Flamand with one. Evett ‘Snoop Dog’ Smereka buried a bone in the back of the net too. Not one assist was listed on the game sheet but we all know very well that there was a few.

On Sunday the Peewee squad traveled to Kitscoty. The Avalanche  sluggish getting out of the gate resulted in a three goal lead  for the Pit Bulls. The only goal in the second period by Keysen ‘Dyamite’ Demossiac assisted by Formula One giving the team a little momentum heading into the dressing room after forty minutes, the score at this point 3-1. The Pit Bulls not rolling over replied with three more goals in the third to seal the deal.

Atom Avalanche

On Saturday the Atom Avalanche travelled to Cold Lake losing a barn burner 5 to 4 late in the game . Braylee Wee Willy Lesyk with two goals and an assist. Without a Trace Morgan with a goal and an assist. Notorious Nolan Ballas with a goal and an assist. The Atom Avalanche had a very tough time with the Marwayne / Dewberry Sled Dogs on Sunday afternoon at home losing 7 to 2. ‘Wild Wyatt’ Fontaine and Kale the Hawk Ockerman with the goals. The two Jacks, Jaxon Smitty Smith and J. R. Jackson Rawlake with the assists.  This coming weekend all of the teams are in action. Novice, Atoms and Bantams are at home on Saturday, the Peewee Avalanche is on the road.
