Pontiacs deal Saniga, Thomas and Polowy in separate trades

The Bonnyville Pontiacs busy summer continues.

The Junior A club made three trades last week all for future considerations.

The Pontiacs sent forward Isaac Saniga to the Whitecourt Wolverines, shipped forward Trey Thomas to the Brooks Bandits, and moved defenceman Victor Polowy to the OJHL North York Rangers.

Saniga spent the last three years with the Pontiacs, but also suffered injuries that limited him to only playing 35 games in 2018-19.

He’ll join former Pontiac Ethan Leyer who was moved earlier this summer.

Trey Thomas joined the team last year from the Salmon Arm Silverbacks and scored at almost a point-per-game pace with 45 points in 48 games.

Victor Polowy played rearguard in 41 games with the Yaks last season, finishing with one assist.
