Man shot outside of Vermilion

A 27 year old man is recovering from a gun shot wound. Although there are no suspects, RCMP do not believe the public are in danger.

On April 27 at approximately 1:10 AM Vermilion RCMP responded to a report of male being shot in the leg at a rural residence, East of Vermilion.

On arrival, a 27 year old male resident was found suffering from a gunshot wound. The injuries were noted to be serious but not life threatening. The male was transported from the scene via ambulance. Due to the serious nature of the wound the male was transferred to Edmonton via STARS Air Ambulance. 

No suspects were located and the RCMP does not believe this was a random act.

The Vermilion RCMP detachment with the assistance of Edmonton General Investigations Section and RCMP Forensic Identification Services continue to investigate.

As this matter remains under investigation no further details are available at this time.
