Town and M.D. survey on a new swimming pool asks for your input

The town and M.D.’s feasibility study is exploring future options on what a new swimming pool could look like in Bonnyville.

The Town and M.D. are asking for input about a much anticipated new swimming pool.

Bonnyville and area residents will receive a postcard in the mail with an access code that will allow them to take an online survey that asks them questions about their swimming pool usage.

This is one of the steps the Town, M.D., and Regional Aquatics Centre Committee has taken with their feasibility study of a new swimming pool.

The study is looking at draft designs of a pool while nailing down precise costs and engaging with pool users about what they want to see.

If you did not receive a code, but still wish to take the survey you can.

The survey asks questions about how often residents use the current pool, what factors play into going/not going to the pool, and if they would support an increase in property taxes to pay for the pool, amongst other questions.

The survey closes on May 5.

In November, the town and M.D. had each spent $30,000 for a feasibility study at the Centennial Centre.

The survey can be done on the town’s website.
