Glendon to Hold Nomination for Newly Vacant Council Position
A municipality in the M.D. is seeking a replacement councillor.
Glendon is holding a nomination for a vacant position Oct. 22 after councillor Nancy Pelletier announced she is resigning due to personal reasons.
“It’s definitely unfortunate for her resignation,” said Mayor Laura Papirny. “She was an important member of our team. She always volunteered for everything with that extra mile.”
If more than person comes forward for the position, then a candidates forum will be held before election on Nov. 19.
“We’ve heard some rumblings in the community about people thinking about the position so that’s great.”
“You have to definitely have the community’s best interest at heart. The more people who step up the better choice it is for the community,” Papirny said.
This resignation leaves Papirny and Deputy Mayor Scott Lundgren as the only sitting members.
