Bonnyville RCMP suspicious persons complaint leads to recovery of stolen vehicle

Three people are facing charges after a citizen reported a suspicious vehicle on a rural property off Highway 28 on Monday.

On August 13, 2018 at approximately 1:45 p.m., Bonnyville RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle with flat tires parked on the complainant’s property. The Eastern Alberta District RCMP Crime Reduction Team was in the area and located the vehicle abandoned on a property off Highway 28 and Range Road 482. Responding members patrolled on foot and observed two male suspects attempting to flee on foot through the field. Shortly thereafter, both males were taken into custody without incident. The vehicle involved was reported stolen and recovered by RCMP.

RCMP Police Dog Services was requested to attend as it was determined there was a third suspect outstanding. The third suspect was apprehended by Police Dog Services. He received minor injuries and was treated and released from hospital.

Dustin Davidson Hardy (24) of Kikino, Alberta is facing several charges including:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Resist/obstruct peace officer
  • Break and enter
  • Possess break in instruments
  • Fail to comply with recognizance (x2)

He was remanded into custody for a court appearance this morning August 16, 2018 at St. Paul Provincial Court.

Demien Lee Rosenkranz (25) of Fort Saskatchewan is facing several charges including:

  • Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose
  • Driving while disqualified
  • Fail to comply with probation order (x3)
  • Possess break in instruments
  • Break and enter
  • Resist/obstruct peace officer
  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000

He was remanded into custody for a court appearance this morning August 16, 2018 at St. Paul Provincial Court.

Christopher James Erasmus (32) of Lac La Biche is facing several charges including:

  • Possession of property obtained by crime over $5000
  • Resist/obstruct peace officer
  • Break and enter
  • Possess break in instruments

He was released from custody to appear in court in Bonnyville on September 4, 2018.
