At 2:31 p.m. on August 2, the RCMP were advised that a male was shooting at a residence.  The responding members called in RCMP Police Dog Services for assistance in locating the male.  As the investigation unfolded, it was determined that the male was in a residence on Range Road 151.

The RCMP contained the area, and ensured that no members of the public were put at risk.  RCMP Police Dog Services attended, and the ERT team responded.

At 2:45 a.m. today, the suspect was arrested by the ERT without incident.  He remains in police custody, pending a judicial interim release hearing.  Charges are forthcoming against the male.

The investigation into the incident continues, in cooperation with the Forensic Identification Section and the Auto Theft Unit.

The Lac La Biche RCMP believe that this was not a random incident and can confirm that no one was injured in the residence.  The response from the RCMP and immediate and drew on several resources to ensure no public safety risk.
