New Principal for H.E. Bourgoin Middle School
Northern Lights Public Schools is pleased to announce that Jeannine Ellis has been appointed as Principal of H.E. Bourgoin Middle School in Bonnyville.
“During her time with the division, Jeannine has distinguished herself as administrator who is committed to building strong relationships with students, parents and the community,” said Superintendent Rick Cusson. “She is passionate about ensuring that all students have the resources they need to be successful.”
Ellis has been Principal of Iron River School since 2015-2016.
She originally joined the division as an educational assistant at Iron River School. After taking a break to earn her Bachelor of Education from the University of Alberta, she returned to Northern Lights as a teacher and was nominated for the Edwin Parr Teacher Award as an outstanding first year teacher.
“I am very excited about the amazing opportunity to return to H.E. Bourgoin School,” said Ellis. “I look forward to this new challenge and to re-orienting myself with staff, students, parents, and community members in Bonnyville. It is very hard to leave Iron River School because of the wonderful school and community that it is, but I believe they will continue to flourish and be the “The Little School with the Big Heart”.
Ellis’s appointment is effective at the start of the 2018-2019 school year.
