Elks fall 6-2 to Rustlers
The Elk Point Elks took to Wainwright on Friday evening, shorthanded, and came home with a 6-2 loss. “We did well for our short bench. We only had 14 guys. We played with them for most of the game, and then ran out of steam,” coach Murray Cochrane says it’s one of the woes of the SaskAlta Sr Men’s Hockey League, being able to skate enough players.
“Excellent effort, PAUL BOULIANNE played excellent again, so that’s a good sign,” Boulianne is the Elks’ goalie took on 46 shots, saving 40 of them against the Rustlers. RYLEY WOZNIAK got both goals for the Elks, which came in the second period; one unassisted and another with help from MARK BRODBIN. “Ryley Wozniak is going to be a good edition.”
The team will meet the Dewberry Mustangs at the AG Ross Arena in Elk Point on Friday. The game is expected to be a barn burner. The rivals met last year in the first round of the playoffs, with the Elks knocking out Dewberry in four games. Puck drop is 8:30 pm in Elk Point.
