Brother – Sister pair charged

On June 17th at approximately 8:15 PM, a member of the Bonnyville RCMP was on patrol in Kehewin and observed a suspicious vehicle parked in a field, determined to be stolen from Elk Point.

The member noted a female, later identified as 23 year old Kendall Cardinal of Edmonton, to be rummaging through the vehicle.  Cardinal attempted to flee when she saw Police but was caught and arrested.

Meanwhile, Cardinal’s brother, 37 year old Gordon Dumais of Glendon was hiding in the bushes nearby.  He too was arrested.  Several firearms were located and determined to have been in the possession of Cardinal and Dumais.  The siblings are charged with Careless Use of a Firearm X2, Unauthorized Possession of a firearm X2, Possession of a Weapon for a Dangerous Purpose X4, Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000 X4.

Their next court appearance is July 4th in Bonnyville Provincial Court.
