Bonnyville schools aims to encourage healthy living in students
Duclos Elementary School in Bonnyville will be hosting their first annual Health & Wellness night on Thursday, March 2nd. The evening promises to be fun and engaging for students, while promoting healthy living.
Activities will be set up throughout the school for both parents and students, promises a newsletter distributed to the students. “These activities will include movement activities such as gymnastics, baseball, Zumba, Yoga, dance, lacrosse, and many more,” the newsletter encourages everyone to try the different activities.
Along with physical activities, there will be booths set up to help with wellness, “fun learning activities such as dental care, personal hygiene, music, mindfulness, and how to pack a healthy lunch.”
Clubs and groups will be on hand, “in the hallways, there will be some informational booths set up by different organizations like KidSport, the Bonnyville Swimming Pool, the Centennial Centre and many more.”
Students and parents are asked to bring a refillable water bottle and wear comfortable clothing and footwear. The event runs from 6:00-7:45 pm at Duclos Elementary on Thursday.
