Chantel Axani-Rawlake named Principal of Notre Dame High

Lakeland Catholic is Pleased to Announce Chantel Axani-Rawlake as the New Principal of École Notre Dame High School

Chantel was born in Cold Lake and has lived in Alberta her whole life. Chantel and her husband Nolan have a son Cohen who is 9 years old.
After graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Education degree in 2006, Chantel began her teaching career with Lakeland Catholic Schools. She obtained a Master’s of Education in Curriculum, Teaching and Learning with a specialization in Assessment from the University of Calgary in 2012. Chantel moved into a position of school administration at École St. Dominic Elementary School in 2012 as Vice Principal.

Throughout her time as Vice Principal, she has refined her leadership style, communication and collaborative skill sets. She demonstrates strengths as both an Instructional Leader as well as a Servant Leader. Chantel possesses strong knowledge and practical application of current educational techniques and best practices including Assessment For Learning strategies, Differentiated Learning and Instructional Intelligence. This exemplifies her dedication toward student learning.

Passionate about sports and active living, Chantel has coached many athletic teams, and she acted as the École St. Dominic Elementary School representative for the Lakeland School Athletics Association. She enjoys yoga, CrossFit and running.
Chantel says “I am dedicated to Catholic Education. As a servant leader, I serve the students and parents of our schools as well as other stakeholder groups, through regular, open communication. I am looking forward to working with the students, staff and families of École Notre Dame High School.”
Chantel will commence her position as Principal on April 18th, 2017. Congratulations Chantel on your new position as Principal of École Notre Dame High School.
